Coldstream FTO+ filters have a limited lifespan and must be replaced regularly in order to guarantee optimal filtration.
When to replace a Coldstream filter?
Coldstream® cartridges generally have a capacity of up to 3,000 litres of filtered water and should be replaced approximately every 6 to 9 months, depending on your usage and the quality of your water.
Water that is particularly high in limescale or particles can reduce the lifespan of the filter.
What are the signs that a replacement is necessary?
Certain signs may indicate that it is time to replace your filter:
- A significant drop in flow
- An unusual change in the taste of the water
- Abnormally slow filtration despite cleaning the filter
- Prolonged use beyond the recommended duration
Can I extend the lifespan of the filter?
Yes. Regular maintenance of the filter often helps maintain good performance for longer.
A light cleaning of the outer surface of the filter can help improve the flow when mineral deposits or particles have accumulated.
How do I replace my filter?
Simply remove the old filter, install the new one according to the assembly instructions, then let the first few litres of water pass through before drinking.
When installing a new filter, we recommend letting about 10 litres of water pass through and then discarding that first water in order to naturally rinse the filter.
